Nessie
The tourist who wants to use Edinburgh as a stop off point to explore the surrounding areas is well served with organized coach tours and boat trips. Trips take visitors through the spectacular highlands of Scotland's, through the scenic Glencoe- the site of a famous clan massacre of the Macdonald's by the Campbell's in 1682 (The Macdonald's among you should be warned - you will find that the Campbell's are still annoyed over it). A trip up the great Glen can follow which takes a visitor on to spectacular views over Loch Ness. It is home of course to Nessie, that mysterious sea creature that manages to (mostly) avoid the camera clicks of visitors. Visitors can avail of regular boat trips on the lake, visitors are also reminded to make sure their lens caps are off - just in case.
